OUR SOCIAL SCENE AT NEWBIGGIN BY THE SEA SAILING CLUB

Newbiggin by the Sea Sailing Club is renowned for its social activities. Being a family club we hold various social functions through the year for both adults and cadets. Our cosy bar facility is open after sailing and you can come and participate in a game of pool or just a drink and a chat. We hold a cadets christmas party every year and we arrange other functions for them not only in the clubhouse but also on trips to places of interest.

The adults have regular functions and the club also has a social membership where past members and friends of the club participate in the social functions in the bar. A quiz is held every year between ourselves and other organisations and we have an Indian night, a Salmon Supper as well as other theme nights. Our annual dinner dance is held in a hotel and every effort is made to get people onto the community transport for this event. This allows everyone to have a drink and enjoy the evening. At the dinner dance we present the trophies that have been fought over each week on the water. Our regular newsletter The Helm (recent copies of which can be found in the News Letters section) keeps members informed of the activities going on in the club. Social or Sailing Newbiggin is the club to be at in the North East of England.
