Newbiggin Bay Web Camera

| Newbiggin by
the Sea Sailing club is located on the north east coast of the England.
It is situated next to a large bay which provides its main sailing
area. The club also has the advantage of having a man made lake located
nearby which we use during the winter season thus allowing the hardy
sailor an all round sailing season. Newbiggin is a family club with
full clubhouse facilities and we attach great importance to good
sailing, a friendly welcome and a healthy social calendar. The club
has a secure dinghy park close to the launching area and three safety
boats, at least one of which is always on hand during club sailing. Our recently refurbished and extended four storey clubhouse has hot showers, meeting rooms, canteen and a bar and we offer
a warm welcome to prospective members. |

| The
club is open to all, regardless of age and ability and our cadet section has a warm welcome for
youngsters
who wish to learn to sail or who are experienced sailors and would
like to become involved with an active club. Members of other
RYA
affiliated clubs may sail with us at any of our sessions. We sail
on Thursday evenings and Sundays during the summer season and our
cadets have their own session on a Saturday morning. Special training
evenings are run on Tuesdays where we invite the "experts" to
show us racing skills. Fees for our club are just under£2.00
per week for a family which makes this a very economical club. Our social programme is second to none and we run functions
throughout the year. These have included theme nights such as an
Indian Night, a Salmon Supper, Burns Night, French and Italian nights.
Our new kitchen produces a wide variety of food for these functions.
The club has hot showers in the ladies and gents changing rooms and
we have training rooms were we can show videos or hold lectures.
We have a cosy bar at the top of the club, accessible by a lift, where we serve drinks and
you can play pool. Newbiggin by the Sea Sailing Club prides itself
on being a family club. |
