Sports Development Officer Active England is a joint £108.5 million community sport investment programme with the Big Lottery Fund and Sport England. Through this, Newbiggin Sailing Club has secured funding for a full time Sports Development Officer, assisted by a grant from the Northern Rock Foundation. The Sports Development Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and development of the sailing club’s activities. You will focus on increasing participation in water based activities across the community and region, as well as developing the training centre. The aim of the project is to maximise participation in sailing and other water based sporting activities. Newbiggin Sailing Club is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person who can make a real difference to participation levels in water activities. You will have experience of planning and delivering activity sessions within a range of water based activities, age groups and abilities, excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to work as part of a team of casual and volunteer instructors. You will hold as a minimum a RYA Senior Instructor certificate (coastal), and above all else you will have the personality, drive and commitment to deliver results.
